The Game Plan (Game On #3) by Kristen Callihan
A beard-related dare and one hot-as-hell kiss changes everything.
NFL center Ethan Dexter’s focus has always been on playing football and little else. Except when it comes to one particular woman. The lovely Fiona Mackenzie might not care about his fame, but she’s also never looked at him as anything more than one of her brother-in-law’s best friend. That ends now.
Fi doesn’t know what to make of Dex. The bearded, tattooed, mountain of man-muscle looks more like a biker than a football player. Rumor has it he’s a virgin, but she finds that hard to believe. Because from the moment he decides to turn his quiet intensity on her she’s left weak at the knees and aching to see his famous control fully unleashed.
Dex is looking for a forever girl, but they live vastly different lives in separate cities. Fi ought to guard her heart and walk away. But Dex has upped his game and is using all his considerable charm to convince Fi he’s her forever man.
Game On.
Giselle’s Review:
“YAAASSS!!” So that pretty much sums up my thoughts after finishing The Game Plan, and can you really blame me? The Beard has clouded my thoughts and taken over my life (and by “The Beard” I mean Dex’s – well, I pretty much mean Dex in general, not just his beard, but the beard is definitely what started it all). Now, I can’t believe I’m actually fan-girling over a beard, but it’s also about the man who wears the beard aka Ethan Dexter. He’s tatted-up, serious- the definition of stoic, built like a brick wall, and hotter than a Summer day in South Florida. What’s not to like?
Then we have Fiona Mackenzie, aka my latest and greatest girl crush. If I had to choose someone I loved more than Dex it would, without a doubt, be Fiona Mackenzie, or Fi, for short. Fi is the total opposite of Dex, in that she always says whats on her mind, without holding anything back, she’s a bit of a wild-card and she definitely loves to talk- things that do not apply to Dex. This is definitely a case of “opposites attract” and I loved every minute of it.
Although they are different, these two connect on a level that surpasses their personal characteristics. Fi brings out a side of Dex that no one else gets to see and I don’t just mean that in sexual innuendo type of way (although…that too).
Kristen Callihan brings her absolute best in The Game Plan and I really did not expect anything less than utter perfection. This series has been nothing but a joy to read and Kristen’s writing will never cease to grab my attention and hold it. If you’re anything like me, The Game Plan- this entire series- will have you laughing, swooning, possibly crying, and just flat-out falling in love.
I could recommend this book, and series, a thousand times over and it would still not be enough. So do yourself a favor and pick this book up!! <3
