Summer Reads You Need NOW!
It’s hot, it’s occasionally rainy AF (Miami weather is unpredictable), so maybe you want to curl up inside with the AC and a good book – or maybe you want to read outside (GAH). Either way, I’ve got some summer recs READY FOR YOU. I’m going to try to include a variety of books that I’ve read that I think make the perfect summer reads: aka books with happy endings that might make you shed a tear but will mostly have you smiling/laughing. Disclaimer: books are in no particular order, all books are being treated as equals.
Ok I know I said all books are equals but I kinda lied because this book is MY FAVORITE BOOK of the year so far. Sexy, refreshing, funny, this book is unlike any other and I have probably recommended it to every person I know. I am so excited for the next book by Helen Hoang because she is seriously a SUPERSTAR in my eyes after The Kiss Quotient.
R.S. Grey kills it at the rom-com game and Arrogant Devil is one you definitely don’t want to miss. It’s an enemies-to-lovers romance and the banter is seriously CRAZY good!! You will swoon, you will laugh, you will want to give all your money to Rachel after reading.
Jock Row was seriously SO PERFECT, like I think of it every now and then even though I read it almost two months ago. It’s a sports romance (obvi) and Sara Ney is seriously such a bad-ass at those (How To Date a Douchebag – helloooo). Ney writes the funniest dialogue and the BEST chemistry. Just check out the description if you don’t believe me.
Summer Skin is such an empowering college romance! I read this book before it pubbed in the USA and I recently found out it got picked up here in the States, which I was SO happy about. This book is funny, filled with girl power, wit, and is so REAL. I highly recommend!!
While not my usual romance novel, All Over The Place is such a great read and Geraldine is HILARIOUS. Her story is so enjoyable and inspiring and if you love travel, good stories, and a laugh this is the perfect book for the summer.
If you haven’t read this book yet you need to ASAP. Love and Other Words is so beautiful and romantic and heartbreaking but just GAH- incredible! Christina Lauren kinda veers away from the typical rom-com with this one to ring you a big ole emotional punch but I still loved it.
This is an oldie that I ended up discovering this year and it made me FALL IN LOVE with Mariana Zapata. The Wall of Winnipeg and Me is the ideal witty rom-com and a sports romance on top of it all. It’s cute, quirky girl meets large and extremely quite football player and it is PERFECTION.
More Than Words is such a heartfelt romance about two childhood friends who reunite after so many years and it was EVERYTHING. I breezed through this novel and Mia Sheridan knows how to write romance that tugs at the heart strings but ultimately makes you feel good <3.
