Before I picked up The Best Goodbye, it had been quite a long time since I had read an Abbi Glines book, so I didn’t really know what to expect. I figured I would like the book because I like all of the books I’ve read by Abbi Glines but I didn’t know if I would love this book.
Well, do not fear, because not only did I like this book but I couldn’t put it down!! I could not tear my eyes off this book because it was the perfect mix of mystery, romance, and angst. I was on the edge of my seat with The Best Goodbye because I didn’t know how things would play out and when secrets would be revealed.
The Best Goodbye is the 13th (hot damn!!) book in the Rosemary Beach series and it was great to see some of the characters from before that I know and love. I also loved meeting Captain and Rose in this book (I’ll be starting When I’m Gone and When You’re Back ASAP because I know Captain makes an appearance in those!).
With it’s fresh dialogue and writing, The Best Goodbye is a sexy, sweet, addicting ride that will have you anticipating it’s every move, wondering what the heck is going to happen next in Captain and Rose’s story.
The only thing I wish is that we could have gotten a better look at Captain. I feel like I know him, but I also feel like there’s still so much mystery around him- but I guess that’s his appeal. Captain is the definition of sexy, mysterious, with a hint of asshole, but you really can’t help in loving him.
Rose, a single (kick-ass) mom, and him have such incredible banter and chemistry and their story was both sad and beautiful. I loved every second of it and I think you will too. 😉
