Girls Trip from Portland to Seattle in 5 Days

A PNW trip in the Fall is an absolute must and something I might make a yearly thing after this trip. We managed to see so much in the time we were there. The weather was perfect and nothing beats being able to see the leaves in prime Fall foliage. For this trip we flew into Portland and stayed with our friend and old roommate Natasha and then we rented a car and drove to Seattle – one beautiful stop along the way included (Mount Rainier). I wanted to make this trip equal parts city and nature and I think we succeeded.

Day 1 (Portland)

Breakfast from Pine State (the biscuits are sooo good)
Walk in Washington Park
Thrifting (check out North West Union! An amazing selection)
Powells Bookstore (A MUST)
Happy Hour @ Hey Love

Day 2 (Portland)

Brunch at SweeDeeDee (this is THE spot, check out my reel for the details)
Grab donuts from Blue Star for the day!
Rental car time!!
Drive to Cannon Beach (1.5 hr ride, WORTH IT)
See Ecola State Park (great views of the Coast)
Drive back to Portland
Vietnamese food for Dinner!! we had pho from Lela’s Bistro and it was phenomenal.

Day 3 (Mt. Rainier!)

Now begins our drive to Seattle. We had to be in Seattle at 3pm to leave the rental so our wakeup call was very early but we were right on time so I would use this as a reference for timing.
Leave Portland @ 6:30 am
Drive to Mount Rainier’s Fremont Lookout Trailhead (5.6 mile hike, very popular but wasn’t too busy)

Drive to Seattle post-hike

Best Place to Stay in Seattle: THE STATE HOTEL

I am going to be bragging about this hotel until the end of time because we had the BEST experience here. Not only is this hotel in the middle of everything you want to see in Seattle, the view of Pikes Place is fantastic and the staff is so freaking wonderful! I don’t think I’ve ever had such a seamless stay.

Day 3 cont. (Seattle)

Eat at Old Stove Brewing
Check out the Original Starbucks (closes at 8:30pm)

Day 4 (Seattle)

Breakfast at the Starbucks Reserve
Elliot Bay Books
Garage with amazing view of Space Needle (posted about this on IG but when we were walking we saw this amazing view!) How to get to it? Map to 1000 Lenora St, but the parking lot entrance is on W Denny Way!
Space Needle (go up it! It’s worth it!!)
Lunch at Mantra for Thai!
Kerry Park (best view of the skyline)
Elliot Bay
Kerry Park

Day 4 (Seattle)

Ghost Alley Espresso
Walk through Pikes Place Market (jewelry across from the OG Starbucks is so cute!)
Brunch at Bacco Cafe
Museum of Pop Culture
Olympic Sculpture Park
Some Random Bar for Dinner
Save for your trip!
