Favorite Reads of 2016!
2017 is almost here and I’ve got my list of favorite books!! I’ve read so many incredible books this year so this list is relatively long but I just couldn’t help myself! Hope you enjoy!
Ps. This list is in no particular order!
With This Heart by R.S. Grey
If you love witty banter, adventures, laughing, young and reckless love, and ROAD TRIPS, you will love everything about WITH THIS HEART.
A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses #2) by Sarah J. Maas
I LOVE THIS BOOK/SERIES. I had read fantasy novels before reading this series, but this book made me FALL IN LOVE with fantasy novels. This series just keeps getting better because this book (#2) blew. me. away. I’m anxiously awaiting the release of book 3!!
One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid
One True Loves, like all of Taylor’s books, was one of those novels that completely changed my perspective on life, love, everything. It is magical, beautiful, heartbreaking, and eye-opening.
Some Kind of Perfect (Calloway Sisters #4.5)
SKOP is the conclusion to the Calloway Sisters/Addicted series and, as a huge fan of this series (I kinda feel like I know them all personally at this point), I LOVED THIS BOOK. To sum it up, this book was bittersweet and I couldn’t have done without it.
It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
It Ends With Us is a GAME CHANGER. This book hurts in the best way and the worst way and I could not recommend it enough. I even made a playlist for it– like that’s how much I loved this book. Colleen Hoover is my writing queen and she blew me away with this one.
A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner
Okay so this book was seriously an EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER. Which is obviously something I loved, but holy crap did this book put my heart through the ringer. I haven’t written my review for this one yet but I will definitely try to soon because just thinking about this book months after I’ve read it is giving me all the feels. It is FLAWLESS.
Summer Skin by Kirsty Eagar
Summer Skin is that book that I could relate to because it perfectly depicts being a female in modern day hook-up culture, and everything that comes along with it. It was so real, witty, empowering, SEXY and smart. While reading it I couldn’t help but think it would be an amazing TV series. *fingers crossed*
Undecided by Julianna Keyes
NEW ADULT AT ITS FINEST. I think that basically sums up Undecided. I loved this novel so much and it was definitely the PERFECT New Adult read. If you love NA (hey- even if you don’t) pick up this book!!
The Fable of Us by Nicole Williams
Nicole Williams has yet to disappoint me and this second chance romance is filled to the brim with family drama, relationship drama, and tension of all kinds. It is one you won’t want to put down!
The Last Good Girl by Allison Leotta
The Last Good Girl was a book I picked up at the exact time I needed it, and a book that opened my eyes, and will hopefully open other peoples eyes, to the importance of sexual assault cases. It’s a read I would definitely categorize as being IMPORTANT AF.
Swear On This Life by Renée Carlino
This book gives me ALL of the feelings!! I think that somewhat sums up Swear On This Life. Oh, and the words: heartbreaking, romantic, emotional, poetic, beautiful. Basically, Renée Carlino has written a beautifully-woven tale of two people who are meant to be, even when it seems like the odds are stacked against them.
Punk57 by Penelope Douglas
FACT: Penelope Douglas will never write something I don’t love. EVERYONE GET THIS BOOK NOW
WILDER by Rebecca Yarros
WILDER was one hell of a wild ride and it will have your heart racing as fast as some of these characters do. Everything about this book is an adrenaline rush and Rebecca left me with a huge book hangover with WILDER. I can’t wait for the next book in this series, NOVA! <3
Unbreak My Heart by Nicole Jacquelyn
*cue the emotional overload* Unbreak My Heart was a book I hated at one moment and then loved in the next. I cried, I laughed, I FELT. I also almost threw the book against a wall but I’m so glad I didn’t because in the end I loved every second of this story.
Breaking Her (Love is War #2) by R.K. Lilley
Angst. Angst. Angst!! This series is an all-time favorite and a must read for anyone who loves a hate-to-love-to-hate-to-love sort of story. 😉 *books must be read in order!*
Thanks for reading my list and hope you have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
