DAMAGED LIKE US was one of the most highly anticipated books for me this year because I was a very big fan of all the other books in their series. I feel like I don’t talk about their books enough (probably because I auto-buy them on my Kindle and then read them in one sitting), but I love love love their books. The story they’ve created of this huge family is seriously an unforgettable one and I’ll include some of my previous reviews for their books down below later!
Anyways, Damaged Like Us is the story of the second generation of Hale’s, Cobalt’s, and Meadow’s. This story specifically is about Maximoff Hale and his bodyguard, Farrow Keene…which (surprise, surprise!!) makes this a M/M romance! The first by Krista and Becca and the first one that I’ve actually read! If you’re someone who has never read a M/M book, or for some reason you’ve been hesitant to do so because you don’t think you’ll enjoy it as much, please just try this book out! It was seriously so perfect. The banter, the family dynamics, the drama: it was everything, especially if you’re already familiar with the family in the series! I honestly feel like I know these characters and they are my good friends, which is such a unique way to feel about characters in a book that you’ve read.
I’m so excited to read about this generation and am anxiously awaiting the next book because I eat these books up like candy. If I haven’t convinced you to pick up this series yet, just look at Krista and Becca’s Pinterest board for these characters. It will seriously give you all the feels.
