Book Description:

The top-selling, beloved indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths returns with a new romance about a young woman who loses her memory—and the man who knows that the only way to protect her is to stay away.

Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him?

Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. Because getting too close could flood her with realities better left buried.

The trouble is, water always seems to find its way to the surface.

Giselle’s Review:

ARC received in exchange for honest review.

Unique.

Memorable.

All-consuming.

Burying Water.

Burying Water is another magnificent novel by K.A. Tucker. I loved so many things about this novel, I do not even know where to begin. The characters, the story-line, the writing, the twists, the anticipation/edge-of-your-seat feeling I felt until the end. Those were all things I loved about this novel.

Water is beaten and left for dead and when she wakes up she has absolutely no memories. Of anything. Soon after she wakes up, Water begins to build a new life with the help of some amazing people. Then we have Jesse, a sexy mechanic who needs to keep his distance from Water, but who can’t stay away.

Told in dual POV, Burying Water is a story about two people, one desperately searching for answers and one doing everything they can to keep all the answers hidden. It is a romance that will have you swooning and smiling. A mystery that will have you on the edge of whatever piece of furniture you are on while reading it. Burying Water is a book that will consume you and not let you go until you have all the answers.

Through every amazing character in this novel we are given an important message. To be courageous, live in the moment, be strong, and that even those who do not believe they are, can be resilient.

“And tomorrow is Wednesday, and the next day is Thursday, and one day you’ll learn that none of the names real matter. What matters is that you make the most of every day while you still can.”

The romance between the two main characters will have you falling in love with them over and over again. Ginny will have you wishing you lived with your crazy/quirky relative (everyone has one), and will have you wanting to name all your pets Felix.

My journey with Burying Water was an incredibly enjoyable and memorable one. I will most definitely be picking up this novel again for a re-read! It had just the perfect amount of suspense, mystery, romance, and amazing characters. The writing just flowed and made you feel everything with these characters. I can not wait for whatever K.A. Tucker has in store for us next!

So my task for all of you reading this is to read Burying Water. Read it, read it again, fall in love with Jesse, read it now! <3
