AMOUR AMOUR by Krista & Becca Ritchie
Book Description:
Love is a circus
“Every day,” he says lowly, “I hold a person’s life in my hands. The circus is based one-hundred percent off trust. I give it all to someone, and they give it all to me.”
The best aerial technique won’t land 21-year-old Thora James her dream role in Amour—a sexy new acrobatic show on the Vegas strip. Thora knows she’s out of her element the second she meets Amour’s leading performer. Confident, charming and devilishly captivating, 26-year-old Nikolai Kotova lives up to his nickname as the “God of Russia.”
When Thora unknowingly walks into the crosshairs of Nikolai’s after-show, her audition process begins way too soon. Unprofessional. That’s what Nik calls their “non-existent” relationship. It’s not like Thora can avoid him. For one, they may be partners in the future–acrobaticpartners, that is. But getting closer to Nik means diving deeper into sin city and into his dizzying world.
Thora wants to perform with him, but when someone like Nikolai attracts the spotlight wherever he goes—Thora fears that she’s destined to be just background to his spellbinding show.
Giselle’s Review:
Okay so where can I sign up to join the circus, or at least Aerial Ethereal, because who wouldn’t want to be a part of this thrilling and exciting life Krista and Becca have created. The twintasticwritingduo has truly outdone themselves with this standalone novel (which I’m praying has a/some spin-off book(s) because there’s no way I can live without more of the Kotova family). So why did I love this novel so much and why am I praying that Krista and Becca take back the whole “stand-alone” part and write a bunch of novels based on the characters introduced in AMOUR.
Well, reason 1) FLAWLESS CHARACTERS. Krista and Becca know what they are doing when it comes to creating characters that everyone will love. Their magnificent writing adds this flair to their characters that makes them feel as if they are real. Once you meet a character created by Krista and Becca you won’t forget them because it feels like you’ve met them in real life.
Reason 2) PERFECT DIALOGUE. These two are Queens at writing dialogue that will draw you in and have you laughing and dying to meet all the characters just so you can have a conversation with them.
3) THIS: “He’s not the Clyde to my Bonnie or the Damon to my Elena. Shay is and will always be the Lucas to my Haley. A great, protective friend. Like that of One Tree Hill. Who will point out the storm ahead for me while I choose to relish in the sunshine.” I mean, it’s a Vampire Diaries and One Tree Hill reference all wrapped into one. This had me convince that the twins and I need to meet, have coffee, become BFF’s and discuss all these shows that we love.
4) The supporting characters need a number all to themselves because they are that amazing. John, Timo, Camila, Katya, Shay. And did I mention John? And Timo? Yeah- definitely my faves. Well let’s be honest, all the characters in this book rank as my favorites of all time.
5) Nikolai aka perfection in a mans body. He’s mysterious and sexy and caring and loyal to his family and basically everything ever girl dreams about having.
AMOUR AMOUR is incredibly unique, beautifully written and sexy as hell five star read no one will want to miss. The romance is intense, hot, and absolutely perfect. Krista and Becca have done it again and I am waiting on the edge of my seat for their next novel. <3
Silvana’s Review:
And the Queens kill me again with feels. I never thought Amour Amour would get to me this way; in an absolute love that I haven’t able to detach myself from. Not that I want to. I want to have this feeling for the rest of my life. Amour Amour was one of those books that just never ceased to amaze me, even after the actual reading and finishing of the book. I want more and more and I will reread it a million times I can see myself to.
Its characters were my favorite part. Krista and Becca just know how to make amazing, lovable, funny, quirky, sexy characters that I JUST WANT TO MEET THEM AND BE FRIENDS WITH THEM TOTALLY. I am in awed of KB’s magic to making them because I love them. I do. I am in love with all the AA cast. I was half already in love with them since the first few chapters. Everyone had its little characteristic, its persona- and they all made them feel real. And totally cute and yeah sexy as a muffin.
The circus is always a fun theme to read about. Its magic, what happens inside is my favorite part. I adore that this was its topic and the whole point of trying to achieve your dreams and the hard way sometimes life just keeps putting you obstacles, but you have to keep trying.
Thora was my sunshine in the night. I felt myself say “aww” “you go girl” “you are so cute give me all” “I need you forever” “I love you” like all the time. She was optimistic and passionate and had a great personality.
Nikolai- FRIGGING NIKOLAI KOTOVA AND HIS GUNMETAL EYES. He swooped me up my feet since he appeared “God of Russia” yeah indeed. He was SWEET AND KIND AND A GOOD PERSON WHO CARED FOR HIS FAMILY. That’s what I loved more about Nik, he just cares about family and the circus is his family.
Their whole relationship made me into a crying, knowable mess. Krista and Becca tend to do that to me. A LOT. Yep. They are masters in good writing and feels all over the words and just a pretty great (perfect fantastic) relationship between these two. I luv.
Let’s just not forget Timo and John. The book wouldn’t be the same without them, I say. I got to a point in the book where I just told myself “yeah these two are just my goddamn favorite people in the world” I didn’t realize when I started to love them because it seemed I had for a very long time. Their chemistry made me swoon and almost collapse.
It’s always a joy to read KB Ritchie books because I know they are going to kill it and slay me meanwhile. I feel grateful to have read this, it seems it has gone into my top fave books of all time.
